School is Already in Session for Students at the CECCE’s Vocational School

August 22, 2017, OTTAWA - The Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) has spent the past few weeks busily preparing for back-to-school on August 29, but students at the Centre professionnel et technique Minto began their school year this morning.

The Centre professionnel et technique Minto is a high school unlike any other in Ontario for grade 9 to 12 students. Highly trained staff enable students to excel in both academic and applied courses. The school is known for exceptional EQAO results and its high graduation rate. Minto students can earn high school diplomas with specialist high skills majors in trades including construction, electrical, and automotive technology.

“The CECCE is proud to offer innovative and creative specialized programs that meet the needs of families and students,” said Johanne Lacombe, CECCE Chair. “We provide everything students need for their success and well-being.”

Focus programs such as hairstyling and esthetics, culinary arts and hospitality management, and fashion and design are also available at Minto. These semester-long programs provide students with enriching and unforgettable experiences in fields they are really excited about.

“The Minto centre is an excellent alternative for students who want to transition gradually to apprenticeship or the workplace because it offers educational pathways adapted to a variety of student interests and profiles,” said CECCE Director of Education Réjean Sirois.
