CECCE Announces Attendance Boundaries for its New School in Arnprior

April 3, 2017, OTTAWA - At the March 28, 2017, regular board meeting, Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) trustees approved the attendance boundaries for the new Catholic elementary school in Arnprior to open in the fall of 2018.

The new attendance boundaries, which appear in red on the map below, were set following the February 7, 2017, public consultation and comments from the community.

* Attendance boundaries determine which school a child can attend based on his or her home or home daycare address.

On November 5, 2015, the CECCE obtained approval  to build a French Catholic elementary school in Arnprior for students in junior kindergarten to grade 8. The new school will make French Catholic education available to 250 students who do not currently have access to French education in their area. The CECCE is also planning to make child care available in a new 49-space daycare that can accommodate 10 infants, 15 toddlers and 24 preschoolers. Extended day programs will also be offered.

CECCE Chair Johanne Lacombe is confident that the new school will serve the needs of Arnprior and the surrounding area well: “The new attendance boundaries address the concerns and needs of all families in the school communities affected by the changes. They will have access to a school in their community and will no longer have to travel long distances to get French Catholic education for their children.”

Director of Education Réjean Sirois added, “Students who attend the new school and their parents can take pride in being the founders of this new school community. Students will benefit from an excellent Catholic education in French that enables them to develop sustainable bilingualism and pursue their dreams.”
